Jeff Ament - Bassist with Pearl Jam & RNDM

"The most organic overdrive bass box I've ever used, bottom end for days!"  - Jeff Ament

Jeff is currently touring with Pearl Jam using the Amptweaker Bass TightDrive with the Dry Low knob added.
From his opening fretless bass on Pearl Jam's Once to the haunting 12 string bass intro of their hit Jeremy, Jeff Ament helped to create 'grunge', a new genre of music that pushed the limits of rock and punk into a fresh, alternative sound. Much of 80's rock music had settled into a heavily produced, caricature of itself, but in the mid-80's, Jeff and guitarist Stone Gossard had been members of Green River... considered to be one the pioneering grunge bands.  By late 1991, when Pearl Jam's debut album 10 hit the airwaves and MTV, their contributions to that genre had been cast in stone.

Growing up in Montana, Ament's mother played piano and introduced him to records, books and drawing.  Beginning with piano lessons as a child, he progressed to playing snare drum and percussion in high school and singing with the choir.  After hearing the Ramones, he picked up the bass guitar and never looked back.  When his college's art program was dropped, he moved his band to Seattle and eventually joined Green River with Stone Gossard.  The two later started the band Mother Love Bone.  After their singer Andrew Wood died, Jeff recorded the Temple of the Dogs tribute to him alongside Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron and the rest of the newly formed Pearl Jam-Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready.

In early 2012, Jeff began a side project with singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur and drummer Richard Stuverud to create a new alternative band called RNDM.  Their debut album Acts was released in October 2012.
