| On the road as bassist and bandleader with Arista's country star Jason Michael Carroll, Shaun Smith is no stranger to the big stage. For much of the last decade, he toured (often as bandleader) with several big country singers including Mercury's platinum-selling Billy Currington, Capitol recording artist Luke Bryan, and RCA's Sarah Johns. The recent gigs with Carroll have been out on some very big tours with the likes of Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, and last year's Carrie Underwood tour supporting Carroll's 2009 follow-up album, "Growing Up is Getting Old".
“Music was always second nature to me,” says Shaun Smith matter-of-factly. Beginning with church choir, school band and musicals, Shaun has always been a natural. This is not to say, however, that the road from a small town in Western-Central New York to the big leagues was quick or easy. From bar band to regional band, to high- profile arena tours, it has taken considerable hard work and determination to succeed in the highly competitive realm of professional music performance.
After using the Bass TightDrive at a recent headlining gig in Burlington, IA in front of 8500, Shaun remarked that "It Rocks!".
