dUg Pinnick - Bassist/Singer with King's X | |
| dUg Pinnick is known first and foremost as the soulful singer and bassist for hard rockers King's X. A generation of musicians have been inspired by their Beatle-esque harmonies and monster hard rock grooves. dUg's bass tone is instantly identifiable, and his particular fondness for the 12-String and heavy bass tones are a fundamental component of King's X's sound and groove. dUg has also released several solo recordings, and recently recorded bass and vocal tracks as a guest on Hydrogyn's upcoming album 'Judgement' for a song titled "Big Star". In January 2010, ex-Megadeth guitarist Jeff Young joined the Ashland, Kentucky based hard-rock/metal group, which now consists of vocalist Julie Westlake, guitarists Jeff Westlake and Jeff Young, Joe Migz on drums, and ex-Megadeth/Black Label Society/White Lion bassist James Lomenzo. dUg said he used the Bass TightDrive on this recording, and although you'll have to wait to hear it, he had this to say about its tones:
